Which gymnastics leotard should I choose?

It depends on the gymnast's level and on how the leotard will be used. For training, gymnasts usually choose a comfortable Lycra leotard. For competitions, designs with diamanté, prints and shiny fabrics are the favourites.

How do I choose the right leotard size?

A leotard should fit closely for comfort and freedom of movement. To choose the right size, check:

  • the gymnast's height
  • chest
  • waist
  • hips

A leotard that is too big will wrinkle, while one that is too tight can restrict movement.

Which fabrics are used for gymnastics leotards?

Our leotards are made from technical Lycra for excellent stretch and support. Several finishes are available:

  • matt Lycra
  • shiny Lycra
  • holographic Lycra
  • metallic Lycra
  • printed Lycra
  • velvet Lycra

These fabrics are comfortable and show off every movement.

Can shorts be worn over a leotard?

Yes. Many gymnasts wear shorts over their leotard, especially in training, for extra comfort.

Shorts are now also allowed at some competitions, depending on the rules in force. They are made from the same stretch fabric as our leotards for comfort, support and performance.

How should I wash a gymnastics leotard?

To keep your leotard looking its best:

  • wash cold
  • use a delicate cycle
  • do not tumble dry
  • dry flat in the open air

This preserves the stretch of the fabric and decorations such as diamanté.

Why do gymnasts wear leotards?

The leotard is the ideal outfit for gymnastics because it:

  • moves with the body
  • does not get in the way of skills
  • lets the judges see body positions clearly

That is why it is worn in most gymnastics disciplines.

Can a gymnastics leotard be customised?

Yes. Leotards can be customised in a club's colours and identity: specific colours, unique patterns, diamanté and club logo.

Customisation is at the heart of what we do: every one of our designs can be customised for clubs, and we help you create bespoke leotards for competitions and events.
